The Pay It Forward program by the Goodcents Foundation was introduced as a way for those looking to help a neighbor in need while shopping local.
With the dramatic changes that our neighborhoods have all sustained, Goodcents knew we had to move fast to support our guests and our employees. We introduced the Stock the Fridge initiative where guests could get our freshly-sliced meats & cheeses delivered by the pound at an affordable price to help them stock their fridges without leaving their home. By doing this we can help our guests be more food secure, while keeping our doors open.
We are building on that program to allow guests to buy a pound of meat and cheese for a neighbor in need.

…and are so proud to see how many people have been helped by having this option available to them, so we decided to take it a step further. Introducing, the Pay It Forward program.
Now guests can help provide for a neighbor in need by stocking their fridge! Guests can order a pound of meat or cheese to their order and the Goodcents Foundation will donate that pound of meat and/or cheese to a local organization.

Goodcents Foundation
Goodcents Foundation has been teaching people of all ages to grow their own food via a thriving teaching garden curriculum in seven elementary and middle schools, now celebrating its second decade. In bringing the teaching gardens to communities across the US, the Goodcents Foundation will continue to develop sustainable educational programs that teach life skills. They’re stepping up to help us get the food to those who need it most!

City Union Mission
City Union Mission is our Kansas City area partner. Since 1924, City Union Mission has provided warm beds, nutritious food and a place of safety for thousands of poverty-stricken and homeless men, women, and children. We will be donating all our KC donations to City Union Mission.

Rosemount Family Resource Center
Rosemount Family Resource Center is our Apple Valley, MN area partner. Rosemount Family Resource Center provides immediate food and resources to individuals and families to bridge them through difficult times. We engage our food shelf customers to provide workable solutions that will stabilize them and offer hope for the future.

Bixby Outreach
Bixby Outreach is our Bixby, OK area partner. They are here to help families who are dealing with difficult life circumstances by assisting with food every 30 days. They also have holiday food distribution, backpacks, and a Christmas gift shop for families with children. Bixby Outreach wants to be the “Hand Up”!

Emporia Rescue Mission
Abundant Harvest by Emporia Rescue Mission is our Emporia, KS area partner. Emporia Rescue Mission provides free housing for men and a community food kitchen. Abundant Harvest is a free hot meal Monday – Thursday at 5:30.

Tabitha Meals on Wheels
Tabitha Meals on Wheels is our Lincoln, NE area partner. Tabitha Meals on Wheels began in 1967 as the first service of its kind in Lincoln, Nebraska. Today we serve a hot, noon meal to more than 500 clients daily, 365 days per year.

Flint Hills Breadbasket
Flint Hills Breadbasket is our Manhattan, KS area partner. The Flint Hills Breadbasket is a Community Food Network founded in 1983 in a small shed in which the City of Manhattan housed machinery. Since opening, we have grown, but we continue to offer food to those in need through community donations and volunteer support.

Open Door Mission is our Omaha, NE area partner. Each day, Open Door Mission’s campus offers 917 safe, shelter beds to people experiencing homelessness, serves over 4,747 nutritious meals to feed the hungry, and provides homeless preventive resources to more than 1,000 people living in poverty to empower them to remain in their own homes.

Operation Food Search
Operation Food Search is our St. Louis, MO area partner. The mission of Operation Food Search is to nourish and educate our neighbors in need to heal the hurt of hunger. We feed 200,000 people every month
Operation Food Search distributes more than 35 million dollars worth of food and necessities to 330 community partners in 31 Missouri and Illinois counties and in the city of St. Louis.

Open Door Food Pantry
Open Door Food Pantry is our Sedalia, MO area partner. Each month, Open Door Food Pantry provides food, household supplies, and social services to more than 1,600 families, and they also serve as a community resource center for regional aid organizations and programs.

The Banquet
The Banquet is our Sioux Falls, SD area partner. The Banquet is a volunteer-based ministry, which means our meals are paid for, prepared by, and served by volunteer groups who come from Sioux Falls and the surrounding area. The Banquet now serves 13 meals per week at two locations.

Harbor House by The Salvation Army is our Springfield, MO area partner. Men in this program maintain sobriety, work towards a college education, enter the workforce, receive counseling, drug and alcohol rehabilitation, and much more.

Kansas Food Bank
Kansas Food Bank is our Wichita, KS partner. Kansas Food Bank partners with hunger relief agencies across the state: food pantries, soup kitchens and shelters to reach individuals and families who seek food assistance. In addition the Kansas Food Bank runs several programs geared towards reaching children, families and senior citizens who experience food insecurity.
